Four Usable English Phrases Containing “CAT”

We have previously introduced English phrases using the word DOG, and this time we will introduce four English phrases using the word CAT. These phrases can be used in various situations. It’s cool to use these phrases when you need a quick word.

fat cat

 The literal translation is “fat cat,” but it also means “rich person” or “influential person. It can also be used to refer to the bad rich people in movies, the so-called power and money wielders.

 He must be a fat cat !   He must be an influential person! This is a very common usage of the phrase “He must be a fat cat!

cool cat

Read as it is, a cool cat. In fact, it is used to mean “a nice person,” “a cool person,” or “a fashionable person. For someone who likes fashion, it is the best compliment.

 She is a really cool cat !  She is a really lovely person.

a cat nap

Originally, cats are carnivorous animals that must always be ready to catch their prey, so they do not sleep soundly. The word “cat nap” is used in the sense of “snooze,” “nap,” or “nap,” which is probably the origin of the term.

 Let’s have a cat nap after lunch !  Let’s take a nap after lunch!

Dogs and cats raining from the sky….frightening to even imagine. This is used in the sense of “pouring rain” or “raining heavily.
